Today, I had the pleasure of drawing an incredibly cute teddy bear that I recently received. She was dressed in the most charming outfit: blue overalls paired with a pink beret. I couldn’t resist capturing her adorable look on paper! Here’s how the process unfolded:

Step 1: Sketching the Outline

The first step was to create a pencil sketch of the teddy bear. For this, I used a red pencil instead of a traditional gray one. Why red? I felt it would complement the pink and blue tones of her outfit and add a warm undertone to the drawing without being overly bold. Starting with light, gentle strokes, I carefully outlined her round face, floppy ears, and soft, plush body. Her beret and overalls were next, ensuring I captured the details of the straps and the slight tilt of her hat.

Step 2: Adding Color

Once I was satisfied with the outline, it was time to bring her to life with colors. I began with her pink beret, using a light pink watercolor pen to give it a soft, cheerful look. Next, I moved on to her blue overalls, layering the strokes carefully with a blue watercolor pen to ensure the fabric texture appeared smooth and vibrant. The watercolors blended beautifully, making the outfit stand out just as it does in real life.

Step 3: Highlighting the Details

One of the cutest features of this teddy bear is her naturally rosy cheeks. To replicate this, I used a pink pencil from the same color family as the beret. With small, circular motions, I added blush to her cheeks, giving her a lively and cheerful expression. This subtle touch brought the entire drawing together, making it feel even more lifelike.

The Final Result

After completing the sketch and coloring, I took a moment to step back and admire my work. It was amazing to see how well the colors and details came together. The combination of the pink beret and blue overalls looked just as charming on paper as it does in reality. Her adorable expression and rosy cheeks truly captured her playful personality.
